Lobi Stars Chairman, Iorfa, drops lawsuit against former staff
The chairman of Lobi Stars, Mr. Dominic Iorfa, has chosen the path of reconciliation, opting to withdraw a legal case he had initiated against a former staff member, Mr. Paul Tion. The lawsuit revolved around allegations of character assassination and defamation, which had cast a shadow over the sporting community.
Mr. Iorfa’s decision to retract the lawsuit was disclosed in court, where he personally conveyed his intention to withdraw the case. Despite enduring what he described as “huge insults” from Mr. Tion, Mr. Iorfa extended an olive branch, attributing his change of heart to the principles of forgiveness and compassion.
At the Upper Area Court 1 in Markurdi, a scene of legal proceedings unfolded under the watchful eye of Judge A. N. Gwar. The judge, in his ruling, expressed his disapproval of Mr. Tion’s behavior, labeling it as unacceptable. With an air of authority, the judge demanded a formal disclaimer to be issued regarding the defamatory publications that had fueled the dispute.
Taking the opportunity to educate Mr. Tion, Judge Gwar delved into the nuances of the relationship between an employer and an employee, highlighting the importance of maintaining professionalism and respect even after parting ways.
In a humbling moment before the judge, Mr. Paul Tion admitted to his relentless attacks on Mr. Iorfa, despite having previously committed to refraining from such damaging publications. Expressing remorse, he pledged to cease his defamatory actions moving forward, signaling a significant step towards resolution and harmony.
