Lopez signs new Barcelona deal until 2027

Spanish midfielder, Fermin Lopez has solidified his association with Laliga champions FC Barcelona by signing a fresh contract this summer.

Lopez’s commitment entails a four-year extension with the Catalan club, effectively running until the conclusion of the 2026-2027 season. The terms of the contract include a substantial buyout clause set at €400 million.

Having progressed through the ranks of the Barcelona academy, Lopez achieved a significant milestone by making his official debut for the first team during the thrilling 4-3 victory against Villarreal on Sunday, August 27, at El Madrigal.

Barcelona officially confirmed this development via their official website, stating, “The Andalusian midfielder has reached an agreement to extend his contract until June 30, 2027, incorporating a termination clause amounting to 400 million euros.”

In the ongoing Laliga season, Lopez has secured a single appearance. As the season progresses, Barcelona currently holds the fourth position in the Laliga standings, accumulating seven points from three matches in the prestigious Spanish top-flight competition.
