Mr Peter Obi, representing the Labour Party (LP), has exuded confidence in his party’s prospects, expressing a steadfast belief in victory for the upcoming Imo State governorship election scheduled for November 11.
Obi, renowned for his political acumen, highlighted LP’s track record of performance and excellence as a compelling factor in their candidacy.
Addressing a fervent crowd in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on Tuesday during the launch of the party’s gubernatorial campaign, Obi articulated his conviction that the Labour Party would ascend to power.
He invoked the positive transformation witnessed in neighbouring Abia State as an example of the change that can occur under astute governance.
Obi stated that Abia State’s newfound hope and improved governance are rooted in the leadership of a “first-class brain” who understands how to deliver effective governance.
“LP wants to change Nigeria. We are asking Nigeria for the opportunity. Give us a chance in Nigeria, there will be change. In Abia State today, there is hope, that is what is called governance.
“We want Nigeria to have leaders that will do what they preach. We know what it takes to change Nigeria. That is why we are here. We know what it takes to change Imo,” he said.
