Following the expiration of the six month extension of Former Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana, on January 18, the Deputy Commandant, Hillary Kelechi Madu, has been elevated as the Acting Commandant General.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that his elevation was a rocky one as some powerful forces within the ranks and files were initially against it.
However, his predecessor handed over to him in acting capacity until a consequential Commandant General is appointed.
Abdullahi Gana took over from Dr. Ade Abolurin in July, 2015, his tenure expired in the second quarter of 2020 but was extended by six months.
