The Senator representing Oyo North senatorial district, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari Wednesday said governor Seyi Makinde might not be positive to Coronavirus disease as claimed.
Senator Buhari who stated this while featuring on Fresh FM 105.9, Ibadan phone in “COVID -19 Situation Room” monitored by our correspondents said there was never a time the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as the only authorished body confirmed governor Makinde as being one of the persons positive for the Coronavirus.
The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District stressed that governor Makinde may have been mistaken “dry Catarrh” for Coronavirus in his case.
“I don’t think governor Seyi Makinde had Coronavirus disease, he never tested to Coronavirus. Who tested him? May be Professor Alonge. NCDC never confirmed him as COVID-19 positive patient,” he said.
According to Senator Buhari , it is not possible for a CoronaVirus positive patient to be himself the first 48hours of his being positive not to talk of claiming to have recovered within 5 days as was the case for Governor Makinde.
Senator Buhari pointed out that with the uncertainty over his case, Governor Makinde now stands out as the first person in the world to have reportedly recovered from CoronaVirus disease within 5days after he was reportedly tested positive.
The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District pointed out that the Kaduna and Bauchi states governors were actually confirmed positive for CoronaVirus by the NCDC.
On the controversy over the 1,800 bags of palliative rice donated to Oyo state by the Federal government , Senator Buhari accused the Governor Makinde led administration of playing unnecessary politics over the matter.
The Senator said it was unfortunate that Oyo state government failed to handle the situation accordingly moreso, when other states in the South west collected same and never raised any eyebrow over it like Oyo state.
