The Nigeria Police, Benue State Command has paraded 15 persons arrested in connection with various offences including kidnapping, cattle rustling, human trafficking and manufacturing of arms.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Benue State Police Command, assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Moses Yamu told journalists that the development is in line with the efforts of the command under the leadership of CP Bashir Makama to rid the state of crime.
According to Yamu, of the 15 suspects paraded, eight including Joseph Adeke, Nater Mtswenem, Joshua Ezekiel, Terhile Iorliam, Apuur Chigh, Barnabas Aernyi, Gagun Hembaga and Atinigh Ashe are allies of the wanted Terwase Akwaza a.k.a Ghana and were arrested while on mission to avenge the killing of their gang member Zubby, who was killed during a gun duel with security operatives at Ikpaiyongo, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State.
Others also paraded included Amos Etubi, a 200 Level student of the University of Agriculture for kidnapping, Israel Lame for human trafficking, Joseph Moses and Audu Zoho for cattle rustling.
The PPRO appealed to members of the public to help the police with useful information that would help the command in the discharge of its duties.
It would be recalled that barely two weeks ago, the command paraded 28 persons who were arrested in connection with various crimes and offences.
Cp Makama during the exercise warned criminals in the state to confess renounce their deeds or relocate from the state or they would know no peace.
