The Sole Administrator of Makurdi Local Government, Innocent Nyiyongo, has cautioned former Benue First Lady Dooshima Suswam to stop inciting Wurukum market traders against the Benue State government.
Hon Nyiyongo accused the former first lady of inciting Wurukum market traders last week not to relocate Makurdi International Market as directed by state government.
Wurukum market traders and Benue State government are at loggerheads over the decision of the latter to relocate the traders to the new market within Makurdi.
In a press statement, which he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Makurdi, Hon Nyiyongo expressed dismay that the former first lady throughout her eight years in office never visited Wurukum Market but now choose to go there and incite the traders against a sitting government’s policy .
The sole administrator thus urged traders in the market to comply with government’s directive, which he said is in their interest, considering the danger of insecurity, accident and flood they are currently exposed to.
