Man Utd 0-3 Man City: Red Devils suffer another defeat at Old Trafford

Manchester City effortlessly outclassed Manchester United, underscoring the vast disparity between the two teams at Old Trafford.

Erling Haaland was the standout performer, scoring goals in both halves and setting up a third for Phil Foden. Pep Guardiola’s team asserted their dominance right from the start and rarely seemed likely to relinquish control.

Before the match, there were poignant moments as fans from both sides of Manchester’s footballing spectrum came together to pay tribute to the late Sir Bobby Charlton.

For manager Erik ten Hag and his players, the ensuing match was one they would rather forget.

Haaland opened the scoring for City from the penalty spot in the 26th minute, after Rasmus Hojlund was penalized for fouling Rodri, following a review by the video assistant referee.

United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, pulled off a spectacular save to prevent Haaland from securing a second goal with a header just before halftime.

However, the striker didn’t have to wait long to double City’s lead, replicating the goal from a nearly identical situation four minutes into the second half, with Bernardo Silva delivering a pinpoint cross.

City’s goalkeeper, Ederson, also made an excellent save from Scott McTominay just before halftime. City sealed their comprehensive victory when Haaland set up a straightforward chance for Foden with 10 minutes left in the game.
