Rodri has penned a three-year contract extension with English Premier League champions, Manchester City, that keeps him signed with the team through June 2027.
The Spaniard, who joined City from Atletico Madrid for £62.6 million in 2013, has been the centre of their midfield for the past three seasons. On the final day of the previous campaign, he scored an important goal to turn a 2-0 deficit against Aston Villa into a 3-2 lead, which ultimately led to City winning the EPL for the fourth time in five years.
Txiki Begiristain, City’s Director of Football added: “Rodri has been exceptional since coming here, so I am delighted we have managed to agree this new deal. He is the perfect example of what a top professional should be; he has a fantastic attitude, lives his life in the right way, takes care of his body and trains hard every single day.”
