Many injured as petrol tanker explodes in Kaduna
No fewer than 20 individuals sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of a tanker explosion at a petrol station in the Rigasa area of Kaduna State.
Mr. Paul Aboi, the Director of Kaduna State Fire Service, provided this information during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.
Aboi revealed that the injured individuals included five federal firefighters, several members of the Kaduna Vigilance Service, and passers-by. The injured fire service personnel are currently receiving medical treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna.
The incident occurred when the tanker was offloading petrol at the station on a fateful Wednesday. Aboi attributed the incident to negligence on the part of the filling station, emphasizing that offloading petrol should not have been carried out in the afternoon.
