Hon. Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, the immediate past representative of the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, has awarded a full academic scholarship to the first son of the late Barr. Mark Ofikwu.
The announcement was made during a condolence visit to the bereaved family on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Dr. Ottah Agbo paid tribute to the late Barr. Ofikwu, describing him as a man of kindness, humility, and unwavering religious devotion, qualities he said defined the deceased’s life. Barr. Ofikwu was tragically killed by unknown gunmen at his residence, leaving his family in deep sorrow and pain.
During the visit, Hon. Ottah Agbo expressed his profound sadness over the loss of his friend and colleague, stating, “Indeed, grief is the price we pay for love.”
In a gesture of compassion and support, the former lawmaker pledged to sponsor the late barrister’s first son through his education to any level. He remarked, “It is painful to accept that Barrister Mark Ofikwu has departed this world. However, wherever he is, he will be comforted knowing that his son has been granted the greatest legacy—education.”
The late Barr. Mark Ofikwu was remembered fondly for his positive impact on those around him. Hon. Ottah Agbo prayed for God’s mercy on the deceased and asked for divine strength and comfort for his family during this difficult time.
May the Almighty grant Barr. Mark Ofikwu eternal rest and give his loved ones the fortitude to bear this great loss.
