A massive explosions have just been reported near Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv as Russian forces advanced towards the city.
The explosions occurred early Sunday morning in a very quiet city, with curfew declared to last till Monday.
The huge fire lights up the night sky in the city.
The explosion monitored on CNN appeared to be 20 kilometers, or about 12 miles, from the Ukrainian capital’s centre.
The second explosion rocked western Kyiv just before 1 a.m. local time. The second blast also came from the south-western part of the city, in the direction of the city’s second major airport, the network reported.
Over 150,000 Ukrainians have fled the country to, mostly to Poland, as Russia stepped up attack on Ukraine.
Thousands of Ukrainians are staying back in a bid to defend their country.
