Meddy Olotu, Trageel, Ebony Naija, AB Uloko Nominated for Most Influential Idoma Youth Award 2025

Human rights activist and entertainer Meddy Imanoel Olotu, singer Trageel Ejembi, Idoma youth leader Abraham Uloko, and media personality Ogwu Ocheche Shedrack, popularly known as Ebony Naija, have been nominated for the Most Influential Idoma Youth Award 2025.

According to the award committe led by Dr Edwin Ochai, the quadrumvirate earned their nominations from the Idoma International Carnival Award Committee, following a thorough evaluation of their contributions to society over the past 11 months.

The award ceremony will take place onTuesday December 23, 2025 in Otukpo, Benue during the Idoma International Carnival.  

Meddy Imanoel Olotu
Often described as the “Idoma version of VeryDarkMan,” Meddy Olotu has carved a niche for himself as a human rights advocate and humanitarian. Through his platform, he has consistently exposed social ills and misgovernance, bringing national attention to critical issues affecting the Idoma community.

Olotu was among the first to raise the alarm over the tragic murder of Deborah Okwori by her jilted lover, Lintex Ogale. He also played a pivotal role in the nationwide Justice for Ochanya campaign. Beyond advocacy, Meddy has empowered Idoma youths through scholarships, payment of hospital bills, and support for missing persons, cementing his reputation as a youth leader committed to societal transformation.

Ebony Naija (Ogwu Ocheche Shedrack)
Based in Otukpo, Ebony Naija has become a recognizable voice in media and public discourse. He uses his platform to promote Idoma culture and identity, while also advocating for good governance and accountability. His work has inspired younger Idoma generations to embrace their heritage and participate actively in societal development.

Trageel Ejembi
Dubbed number one “Dragger,” Trageel Ejembi is an outspoken musician and social commentator. Known for his unflinching critique of corruption and poor governance, he challenges narratives that discourage progress in the community. Trageel’s boldness in highlighting societal issues has made him a key voice in conversations about development and reform in Idoma land.

Abraham Uloko
As President of the Idoma Youth, Abraham Uloko has consistently championed development and good governance. He has leveraged his position to advocate for infrastructure improvements, most recently drawing attention to the dilapidated Adoka Roundabout, which prompted immediate action from Senator Abba Moro. Uloko’s leadership exemplifies how youth engagement can drive tangible community progress.

The nominations recognize these young leaders’ dedication, courage, and impact in promoting human rights, good governance, culture, and youth empowerment. The Most Influential Idoma Youth Award 2025 aims to spotlight individuals who inspire change and champion the interests of the Idoma people.
