Former Kogi lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to hand over power to his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, as he travels for his medical check-up in London.
On Monday, the Presidency said Buhari would be making a trip to London for his medical check-up and would return to the country after two weeks.
However, the former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district asked Buhari to transfer power to Buhari through a letter to the National Assembly.
Dino advised that the president should do this before leaving the country on Tuesday.
He wrote: “The president should transfer power to the Vice President through a letter to the National Assembly before leaving the country in-line with the constitutional provision.”
