It was former Senate President, David Mark who once said, the Idoma community is so blessed that any profession you mention to, the community has a citizen who is ably represented.
Indeed, the community is blessed and has churned out worthy materials in every chosen career.
Today, IDOMA VOICE profiles Idoma sons who are currently serving as Commissioners of Police in the country.
CP Wilson Inalegwu
Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu belongs to the second category of mortals. He had big dreams of becoming a legal practitioner, which drive his zeal and determination to read law at the prestigious University of Jos.
The young lawyer’s passion for securing human lives and disdain for criminality led him to join the Nigerian Police Force.
It would be a wry understatement to say that the able CP is a workaholic, an achiever and a crime fighter.
His prompt response to tackling armed robbery incidences earned him the name COMPOL 2,4,7 by the ace broadcaster, Ordinary Ahmed Isah of Brekete Family.
When CP Inalegwu held sway as commissioner of police in FCT, Abuja and it’s environ, the incessant armed robbery cases, theft, one chance, bag snatching and others criminal activities were reduced to the barest minimum.
He is currently serving the nation in Kaduna.
CP Samuel Okaula
Adoka-born Commissioner of Police, Samuel Okaula was in charge of Kwara before he was moved to Anambra State.
He engraved the first two lines of the nation’s national pledge in his heart – ‘I pledge to Nigeria my country. To be faithful loyal and honest and uphold her honour and glory.
No doubt, CP Okaula is serving the nation faithfully. Anyone who has come across him would attest to it. His presence in Kwara State chased away criminals, no wonder the state never experience any boom and doom.
He was recently deployed to Anambra when is serving the nation.
CP Anthony Ogboji
Anthony Ogboji is a man who has crested his name in the hearts of many residents of Abia state where he served as the faithfully as assistant Commissioner of Police.
His life is the real definition of the popular adage that says; hard work pays.
In July 2016, his selfless and heroic service to fatherland paid off when he was elevated to the rank of Commissioner of Police.
Before his elevation, Ogboji was the Nigerian FPU Contingent Commander of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).
CP Esa Ogbu
CP Esa Ogbu was among the officer elevated into the rank of Commissioners in July. He is currently incharge of Special Protection Unit (SPU) Abuja.
CP Clement Adoda (deceased)
Until his demise in April 2015, CP Clement Adoda was in charge of Borno State.
Adoda is a native of Ikobi in Apa Local Government Area.
The late Adoda was enlisted into the Police Force on January 1, 1984, and was moved to Borno in September 08, 2014.
