Katherine Ochanya Sunday has been crowned the Miss Idoma 2017.
The Ogbadibo-born damsel, who represented Ugboju community, floored 9 other contestants to win the keenly contested crown at the beauty contest that held in Otukpo, the Idoma traditional stool on Wednesday.
Leading the panel of impartial judges that crowned the latest queen, multiple award-wining journalist and publisher of Idoma Voice Newspaper, Ameh Comrade Godwin attested that making the final decision was a difficult one because all the contestants were outstanding in their outings.
“You girls have done excellently well. You are all winners, but we will all know that among winners, there is always a winner. After a careful review your activities right from the first day you stepped into the camp and your performances last night/this morning, please, join me to celebrate the newest face of our community, and the winner is contestant number 10 (Kate Sunday),” Ameh who doubles as Entertainment Editor with DAILY POST Newspaper said.
The new queen, a student of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia would be presented with her star prize, a brand new car in the offing.
In a brief chat with our reporter in Otukpo, the newly crowned queen described her emergence as ‘a dream come true’.
The dazzling angel also promised to make the Idoma community proud in the next 365 days.
Other judges that presided over the pageantry included former Miss Benue, Miss Patience Adokpe and ace blogger, Apeh Peter and two other persons.
