Mentally ill woman gave birth to twins in Benue community

A mentally ill woman has given birth to twins under harsh conditions in Ipav Mbaikpur, along the Ameladu-Mkovur Jagera road in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the incident, which occurred earlier today, left the mother and her newborns—a boy and a girl—without access to food or essential maternal care, prompting calls for immediate support.

Community activist Comr. Abeen Doc was among the first to respond, transporting the woman to a nearby medical facility and identifying her as being from Mbajov Gaav in Konshisha Local Government Area.

In response, Daisy Care Foundation, led by Miss Daisy Ephraims Terkaa, swiftly provided emergency relief, including essential supplies and financial assistance, while working to secure more sustainable support for the mother and her babies.”
