Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi is keen on having Luka Modric from Real Madrid join him at the MLS club for the upcoming season. This revelation came from former Real Madrid star Predrag Mijatovic.
Messi joined Inter Miami as a free agent during the summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain concluded.
Since his arrival, the Argentine has made a strong impact, showcasing impressive performance by scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 12 games across three different competitions for Inter Miami.
“He has received offers from the MLS, from many teams and from Inter Miami in particular,” Mijatovic told le SER (via MD).
“Lionel Messi himself has personally been interested in the possibility (of Modric joining).”
Modric is approaching the end of his contract with Real Madrid.
The 38-year-old made the move to Real Madrid from Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
