The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has inaugurated a forty-one man committee to plan for the Home Coming, Interdenominational Service, and Grand Reception in Honor of the Secretary to the Government of The Federation, SGF, Senator Dr. George Akume.
Speaking during the event which took place Wednesday, August 09, 2023 at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, Governor Alia appreciated the presence and the acceptance of members to serve in that committee, and advised them to show commitment and seriousness to it.
He described the SGF, Sen. Dr. George Akume as the Most Senior Ranking Member of APC who has made his people proud, hence the imperative to give him special recognition and honour.
The Governor added that the home coming of the SGF is not only a Benue event but the entire North Central event.
He prayed God to grant members of the committee, selected across six states in the North Central and Federal Capital Territory, the wisdom and the enablement to execute their assignment efficiently.
Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Arc. Sunny Echono thanked APC North Central and the Government of Benue State for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity.
He promised, on behalf of other members to commit their time and work diligently with a view to making the event a huge success.
Earlier, Austin Agada, the Chairman of APC in Benue State paid tribute to Sen. George Akume for his political exploits and accomplishments, emphasizing the need for the North Central states to honour him with a grand reception.
