Military locates gunmen who kidnapped schoolchildren in Katsina, battle ongoing

The Nigeria Military has located the gunmen who may have kidnapped an unspecified number of school children in Katsina.

A statement from the presidency revealed that Nigeria security forces have begun exchanging fire.

Reports say the combined forces of Airforce, Army, and vigilantes trooped out to the forests around Kankara town to rescue the school children.

On Friday night, gunmen attacked the Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina State and abducted an unspecified number of students.

The abduction took place hours after President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Katsina for a private visit.
