Ministerial Nominee: Profile of Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi

Sabi Aliyu, born on August 12, 1968, was a renowned indigene of Niger State who served as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Niger North Senatorial District.

Early Life and Education: Sabi Aliyu completed his secondary education at Borgu Secondary School, New Bussa, in 1984. He furthered his academic pursuits at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in Veterinary Science. Committed to continuous learning, he pursued further studies at the University of Calabar and Ogun State University, broadening his knowledge and expertise.

Career Highlights: Before his illustrious career in politics, Sabi Aliyu worked as a veterinary research officer from 1992 to 2006. His dedication to public service and development led him to serve as the Special Assistant and Head of Planning and Institutional Development Department.

Political Journey: In the 2015 elections, Sabi Aliyu contested for the senatorial seat of Niger North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerged victorious. During his time as a senator, he made significant contributions to national development and represented the interests of his constituents with diligence and integrity.

Committee Roles: As a senator, Sabi Aliyu served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Media & Public Affairs Commission, where he played a crucial role in communication and transparency within the Senate. Additionally, he held the position of vice chairman of the Senate Services Committee, contributing to the effective functioning of the legislative body.

Ministerial Nomination: Recognizing his leadership qualities and commitment to public service, Sabi Aliyu was nominated as a Ministerial nominee, representing the aspirations and potential of his home state, Niger.
