Mob kills, burns man accused of motorcycle theft in Ogun

A group of youths in Ilisan Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area, Ogun State, killed and set ablaze a man accused of attempting to steal a motorcycle on tuesday.

The deceased was reportedly part of a two-man gang that attacked an Hausa motorcyclist with the intent of stealing his bike.

Sources indicate that while one of the alleged thieves was beaten to death and set on fire, the other suspect, dressed in an army uniform, managed to escape and took refuge in a nearby building after being severely stabbed.

This situation escalated into chaos as the mob demanded the death of the fleeing suspect, who was dressed in an army uniform and had taken refuge in hiding. The crowd, deeply frustrated by frequent assaults and motorcycle thefts, insisted on taking extreme measures, citing their ongoing suffering at the hands of thieves.

Wemmy Osude, Chairman of the Ilisan Development Association, stated that the fleeing suspect took refuge in a nearby house.
