President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the death of Alhaji Modu Sheriff.
He was the Galadima of Borno Emirate and the father of former Borno State Governor, Ali Sheriff.
The President’s message was contained in a statement on Thursday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.
He extended heartfelt commiserations to Gov, Babagana Zulum of Borno and the family of Sheriff.
Buhari also commiserated with the Shehu of Borno, and the entire Borno Emirate Council.
He described the deceased as an illustrious son and community leader, fondly loved and respected by his people.
Buhari described the death of his in-law and father-in-law to Halima, his daughter, as a personal loss to him, and prayed almighty Allah to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
He appealed to family, friends and relatives who mourn the deceased in the midst of the present challenges facing the country to please maintain social distancing, keep safe and healthy.
