Mohbad’s death: How police arrested Sam Larry at Lagos Airport moment returned from Kenya

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force from the Lagos State Command have apprehended Balogun Eletu, widely known as Sam Larry, a prominent socialite and music promoter, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.

The arrest is in relation to the tragic passing of the late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly referred to as Mohbad.

Initial reports from SaharaReporters shed light on the arrest of Sam Larry, implicating an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise. According to a reliable police source, Sam Larry was taken into custody immediately upon his arrival from Kenya, with officers escorting him to the state police headquarters for further questioning.

Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this development through the X platform, previously known as Twitter, late Thursday night. SP Hundeyin stated, “Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, aka Sam Larry, is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.”

Earlier, the police had invited both Sam Larry and popular singer Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, for questioning in connection to Mohbad’s tragic passing. Confirming progress in the investigation, authorities mentioned that pathologists had completed the autopsy on Mohbad, awaiting the results.
