A Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, on Tuesday discharged Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of Aloba Oladimeji Ilerioluwa, also known as Mohbad.
Acting on legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje ruled that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
In addition to Naira Marley, the court also freed music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu (popularly known as Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (known as Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
Meanwhile, the DPP announced plans to prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of the late singer.
They are facing charges of reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015. Both individuals will stand trial at the Magistrate Court.
