Mohbad’s widow alleges bullying over DNA test demands

Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of Nigerian music star Mohbad, has described herself as “the most bullied widow” in Nigeria.

She claims her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, is targeting her by demanding a DNA test for her son, Liam, and turning public sentiment against her.

Speaking on TVC’s Your View, she stated, “I have nothing to hide. I don’t have an issue with my father-in-law asking for a DNA test, but it’s how he does it.

Right now, I am the most bullied widow in Nigeria.”

Omowunmi also recalled that she and her father-in-law were once close friends before her husband’s passing. She revealed that he had pressured both her and Mohbad into having a child when they were unprepared, employing fasting and prayer to influence their decision.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos State less than 24 hours later. His body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy amid controversies surrounding his death.

The autopsy results remain pending, but Joseph Aloba has previously stated that Mohbad’s body will only be reburied once the autopsy is complete and a DNA test verifies Liam’s paternity
