Laura Abebe, widely known as Moet Abebe, has opened up about her single status, sharing her reasons during a podcast she co-hosts with reality TV star Tolani Baj called “Bahd and Boujee.” The 34-year-old presenter discussed her perspective on relationships with guest Nollywood actor Etim Effiong.
Moet, who has been in the public eye, previously disclosed her challenging experience in an “abusive” relationship with her ex-fiance in June 2023. In October of the same year, she emphasized her reluctance to date men living on the mainland in Lagos, citing concerns about their availability.
During the podcast, Moet explained her current single status by stating, “I feel like if I call you at 11 pm, you will probably give me some story like it is too late, there are police on the street, I cannot come.”
In 2021, she expressed her indifference towards marriage, referring to it as a “fraud.” Moet elaborated on her decision to remain single, attributing it to her perception that “most men do not have sense.” Responding to Effiong’s inquiry about her single status, she conveyed her frustration, stating, “Your gender needs to do more. My issue with men is that they do not have sense.”
Moet urged men to be more discerning in their relationships, suggesting that they should refrain from being involved with multiple individuals simultaneously. Despite choosing to be single, she highlighted the lack of appealing options if she were to consider a relationship.
