Mother sell her day-old baby to pastor for N10,000 in Ondo

A Nigerian woman, Seun Oladayo (22), has confessed selling her day-old baby to a clergyman for N10,000 in Ondo.

The woman who was arrested by the Ondo State Branch of the South West Security outfit, Amotekun, said she sold the baby because she could not cater for it since the father left her the day she told him that she was pregnant.

She said Tope the father of her baby, initially promised to open a shop for her but abandoned her after she told him she was pregnant.

According to her things have been difficult for her even during her period of pregnancy.

She confessed that she asked the pastor to take the baby away and bring N10,000 because she did not know how she will take care of the baby.

The Pastor, identified as Olawale however reported the matter to Amotekun operatives in Ondo, who arrested her after the matter was reported to them, and handed her over to the police.

Meanwhile, when contracted by newsmen, spokesman for the Ondo state police command, Tee-Leo Ikoro said he is yet to get details of the report.
