Education: Mr Ibu pursued his education after completing secondary school. Initially, he gained admission to the College of Education, Yola but faced financial challenges that led to him dropping out. However, he later enrolled at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, to further his studies.

Career: John Okafor began his journey in the Nigerian movie industry in 1998. Initially facing challenges in securing significant roles to showcase his talent, he later gained prominence in 2004 for his exceptional role in the blockbuster comic movie “Mr. Ibu,” where he portrayed the father of a mischievous son, with Osita Iheme playing the son’s role. The movie became a national sensation and earned him the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Comic Actor in Nigeria in 2005.

Mr Ibu’s filmography is extensive, featuring in over 200 Nollywood movies, including iconic titles like “Mr Ibu in London,” “Police Recruit,” “Ibu in Prison,” and “Keziah.” He earned the moniker “Mr Ibu” from the movie that propelled him to fame.
