Nominations for the 2020 MTV European Music Award, EMA, have been announced and surprisingly co-kings of African music, Wizkid and Davido were no where near the list.
However, Nigeria’s rave of the moment bagged nomination for the Best African Act category for the second consecutive time alongside newbie, Rema.
Other artistes nominated in the Best African Act category include; South Africa’s Master KG, Kabza de Small and DJ Maphorisa, Uganda’s Sheebah and DRC’s Gaz Mawete.
American singer, Lady Gaga got the highest nominations with seven nods, followed by BTS and Justin Bieber who received five nods each.
Three new categories were introduced; “Best Latin,” “Video for Good” and “Best Virtual Live.”
The 2020 MTV EMAs will be broadcast worldwide on MTV in 180 countries on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
