Multiple casualties, abductions reported in Niger market Attack

Tragedy struck the Madaka community in the Rafi local government area of Niger State as armed gunmen reportedly killed and kidnapped an unconfirmed number of individuals.

According to reports gathered by DAILY POST, the bandits launched their attack on the community’s market at approximately 3 pm on Thursday, unleashing terror on the unsuspecting populace.

Sources from the area recounted that the gunmen made their presence known amidst the bustling market activities by firing shots into the air, resulting in the tragic loss of several lives.

Furthermore, it was learned that during the assault, the bandits forcefully took away a number of villagers to an undisclosed location.

This harrowing incident comes merely two days after another attack in Pangu Gari, where gunmen invaded the area, resulting in the death of the district head and four others.

Confirming the distressing event, Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Brig Gen. Bello Abdullahi Mohammed (rtd), acknowledged the incident.

The Commissioner emphasized that the state government is actively engaged in efforts alongside security agencies to halt the series of attacks launched by bandits on farming communities within the state.
