Nigerian music legend and Technical Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Entertainment and Community Outreach, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has decried the ongoing killings in the state, describing the situation as a national emergency.

In a heartfelt video message, the award-winning artist expressed deep sorrow and frustration over the unending violence in Benue, lamenting the apparent lack of effective response from authorities.

“My heart is heavy. I am terribly sad and angry,” he said. “What is happening in Benue State has become a national emergency. I can’t wrap my head around it anymore. I don’t even know what to say at this point. This has to stop.”

2Face called on all stakeholders in Benue to rise above political divisions and personal interests, urging a united front to tackle the crisis.

“My sadness, my anger, my frustration – it’s overwhelming that this keeps happening over and over again. This is no longer something we can just condemn in words. Serious action needs to be taken.

“Every stakeholder in Benue must join hands. We can end this. I believe there is a solution,” he added.

His emotional appeal comes amid a series of deadly attacks across communities in the state, prompting renewed calls for urgent intervention.
