Veteran Nigerian actress Ngozi Nwosu has revealed how her home state neglected her during a serious illness.
In an interview with Nollywood on Radio, the Abia State native expressed her frustration, stating that she would no longer provide any free services to her community due to their lack of support.
“I have personally decided that there is nothing my Abia State will call me for that I would do for free. They will have to pay through their nose for me to participate,” she said, noting her roots in the Arochukwu local government area.
Nwosu credited her fame from various roles in television series for helping her during her time of need, explaining that the person who reached out to the Lagos State government for assistance did so because of her admiration for her as an actor.
DAILY POST reports that the 61-year-old actress battled a kidney-related ailment in 2012.
