My salary as founder was N300 a month — Bishop Oyedepo reveals at Shiloh
During the ongoing Shiloh event on Thursday, Bishop David Oyedepo, the President and Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), revealed that he started his ministry on a meager salary of just ₦300 per month.
Bishop Oyedepo recounted his early days in ministry, saying, “Jesus, who pays me now that I’m going full-time into ministry? And light came.
After this, He appointed seventy others also. He told them, carry no personal script and greet no man on the way.
He said, you are in my employment. Verse 7 says, the laborer is worthy of his hire. Just stay on duty. I am responsible.”
He emphasized the principle of divine provision, explaining that just as a soldier does not go to battle on his own expense, ministers of God should rely on divine provision rather than human support.
“No soldier gets enlisted and goes to his village asking for money to buy kits, guns, or uniforms.
The one that enlists you into the army is responsible. No one goes to warfare on his own charge,” he said.
Bishop Oyedepo further shared, “I never prayed for once, ‘Lord, how shall we eat?’ My salary in the church as resident and founder was ₦300 a month.
I never lobbied anyone’s resources. No team member ever asked me for money from anyone. Forty-one years running, we’ve remained faithful to this principle.”
The cleric used the revelation to encourage members to trust God’s provision and focus on their calling without worrying about financial limitations.
