The National Commandant of the Nigerian Peace Corps, Amb (Dr.) Dickson Akoh has reiterated the commitment of the Corps to secure the future for the Nigerian youth.

Akoh who was addressing a coalition of Young Nigerians, comprising of the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Democratic Youths Congress and other bodies in his Abuja Office, on Tuesday; said the Nigerian Peace Corps was birthed for the youths, and as such, its success was the success of Nigerian youths.
The National Commandant, who had earlier led the youth bodies with all his National Officials and State Commandants to the National Assembly on a ‘thank you’ tour, also appreciated the Nigerian youths and students, for standing by the Corps, even as he acknowledged their submission in support of the corps, during the public hearings at the Senate.
Akoh said, ” I may not have the wealth, but I am one of the most celebrated Young Nigerian today. This was made possible by your collaborative efforts. We are grateful to you for that”.
The National Commandant also promised the forum of continuous partnership, even as he jointly agreed with the youths that the cogent assent of President Muhammad Buhari on the Peace Corps Bill was the best thing that would happen to Nigeria’s growing Youth sector.
The event was attended by the National President of NYCN, Comrade Ayuba Murtala Mohammed; National President of NANS, Comrade Haruna Kadiri; Former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Students, Comrade Jude Imagwe, Provost of Federal College of Vet and Medical Laboratory Technology, Vom, Dr. Joseph Okwori, clergy men, among other bodies.
