1. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has explained why he believes God is a Nigerian. Speaking at an event in Abuja on Thursday, December 1, he said: “I believe that God is a Nigerian. Bishop Kukah may not agree with me. Because God loves us so much that we have done so many st¥pid things and he allowed us to get away with these st¥pid things.
2. The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu on Thursday suffered another gaffe in Bayelsa during his campaign. Tinubu, who has committed several blunders in the past during his speech, while making a speech, said it is time to recreate tourism and ‘technological up.’
3. The Labour Party in Ogun State has dismissed the Director General of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Doyin Okupe, and 10 others over alleged non-financial membership status, high-handedness and financial recklessness. The State Chairman of the party, Michael Ashade who announced this in Abeokuta on Thursday, said the offences allegedly committed breached the LP’s constitution.
4. A former Akwa Ibom State commissioner for finance, Bassey Albert, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for corruption. Mr. Albert is the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 election. A Federal High Court in Uyo, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced Mr Albert who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

There was a mild drama at the sitting of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) produced blank documents as the Secondary School Certificate and Testimonial of the newly sworn-in Governor of the State, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
6.President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday in Abuja flayed the tendency of some chief executives to encourage corruption in the local government system, thereby inhibiting development at the grassroots. The President spoke at a parley with members of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) No. 44 (2022) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
7. NANS has declared Monday a nationwide protest. IDOMA VOICE reports that the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students has declared a nationwide protest to demand the release of a student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Aminu Mohammed, who was arrested and sent to prison over a tweet on Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.
8. Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist has said the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi will lose the 2023 election. Omokri said Obi knows he would lose the presidential election and fade away in history’s dustbin. In a series of tweets, the social critic insisted that Obi was ill-prepared for the presidency.
9. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has insisted that it has two billion litres of petrol, in stock. In a statement on Thursday, Mr Adeyemi Adetunji, Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Limited, noted that with enough fuel in stock, it would cater for motorists and car owners for more than 30 days.
10. A Federal High Court sitting in Minna, the Niger State Capital, has ordered that the Chief of Army Staff, General Farouk Yahaya, be arrested for contempt. Justice Halima Abdulmalik, who issued the warrant and presided over the case, said the order followed notice brought before the court in pursuant of order forty two rule ten of the Niger State High Court Civil Procedure 2018.
