  1. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has shut down down a branch of the popular food outlet, KFC, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State. This decision came after the outlet was found to have violated Lagos State laws on People with Special Needs, specifically Part C, Section 55 of General Provisions on Discrimination.

    A statement signed by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, announced the closure on Thursday, titled ‘FAAN Shuts Down KFC Outlet at MMIA.’

  2. A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo has granted Senator Benson Konbowei, representing Bayelsa Central, a N50 million bail.

    The senator, who was arraigned on Tuesday on three counts bordering on forgery of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate among others, was allowed to go home pending the ruling on his bail application scheduled for Thursday.

  3. The Police Service Commission has rescheduled the start of the medical screening for recruitment into the police constable cadre to Tuesday, April 16th, 2024.

    This adjustment was made to allow candidates to participate in the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian Lenten period. According to PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, he stated, “The screening will last for two weeks and will mark the successful conclusion of the exercise.”

  4. Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said he is not the one responsible for the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi (PDP – Bauchi Central).

    Senator Akpabio also stated that he has not received any letter from Senator Ningi demanding his immediate reinstatement.

  5. The Editor of FirstNews Online Newspaper, Segun Olatunji, has narrated his ordeal in the detention of the Nigerian military.

    Recall gunmen suspected to be military officers had invaded Olatunji’s residence at Iyana Odo, Abule Egba area of Lagos state, on March 15, and took him away.

  6. Binance Executive, Tigran Gambaryan, has sued the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged violation of his fundamental rights.

    Gambaryan, in the originating motion dated and filed March 18 by his lawyer, Olujoke Aliyu, from Aluko and Oyebode Law Firm, sought five reliefs before Justice Inyang Ekwo.

  7. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has officially declared eight individuals wanted in connection with the brutal killing of 17 military personnel in Delta State.

    The announcement was made during a press briefing held in Abuja on Thursday.

  8. The Defence Headquarters has reported significant successes in military operations across the nation, with troops neutralizing 212 terrorists, apprehending 253 suspects, and rescuing 244 kidnapped hostages in the span of one week.

    Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, provided this update during a briefing in Abuja on Thursday. He said the operations resulted in the recovery of 223 assorted weapons and 2,756 rounds of ammunition, including three M56 rifles, 115 AK47 rifles, three PKT guns, 24 locally fabricated guns, and 36 dane guns.

  9. The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has provided clarity regarding the decision not to pursue medical treatment abroad for the late Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, affectionately known as Mr. Ibu.

    It is recalled that Mr. Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, following an extended struggle with illness. In a recent interview with Afia TV, Chief Emeka Rollas, the president of AGN, explained that Mr. Ibu was deemed ineligible for treatment in both the United States and India due to his medical condition, which posed significant risks associated with air travel.

  10. The military has received an order from a Federal High Court in Borno to release at least 313 suspected terrorists.

    The court’s decision to release the suspects was based on the lack of evidence to incriminate them following the investigation.
