  1. Jimmy Odukoya, the first son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has emerged as the new General Overseer of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos.

    He also assumed the office of the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of the Church as announced by a member of the Trustee, on Sunday.

  2. President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of 26 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Advisors to serve in various capacities.

    These appointments reflect a diverse range of roles and responsibilities aimed at addressing key issues in Nigeria.

  3. The Kaduna State Police Command has officially verified that, on September 15, a tragic incident unfolded in one of the state’s communities. Suspected bandits were responsible for the loss of two lives and the abduction of three individuals.

    In a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, Mr. Mansir Hassan, the Acting Public Relations Officer of the command, confirmed this unfortunate event. The incident transpired in the Dogon Noma-Unguwan Gamu community, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.

  4. President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim to serve as the Minister of Youth, pending her confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

  6. The President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu on Sunday departed Nigeria for the United States to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

    The development was announced by the presidency in a statement released on Sunday afternoon. This is Tinubu’s first UNGA meeting since he was sworn in as president in May.

  7. The camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar has alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is set to unleash a plethora of propaganda on Nigerians in the form of state policies.

    The Special Assistant to Atiku on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu in a statement on Sunday said the news regarding the lifting of the visa ban by the United Arab Emirates which turned out to be not as exactly reported by President Tinubu’s media aide, Ajuri Ngelale was just a “tip of the iceberg”.

  8. Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared curfew in two Local Government Areas of Osun State.

    IDOMA VOICE gathered that the curfew was imposed on the Orolu and Irepodun local government areas of the state following a communal clash over a land dispute between Ilobu and Ifon, two communities in the council areas.

  9. The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has been invited to a meeting by the Federal Government over its planned strike. IDOMA VOICE gathered that the meeting was scheduled for Monday.

    The meeting was revealed in a statement released on Sunday, by the Director of Information, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Olajide Oshundun.

    The Naira scarcity situation led to mass anger, violence and which claimed at least five lives with many others injured.
