  1. Chef Tartenger Victor, popularly known as Chef Naira Victor, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

    Chef Victor broke the Guinness World Record by cooking nonstop for an astonishing 135 hours.

  2. The House of Representatives has summoned the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dennis Akura, and others for questioning regarding the alleged embezzlement of N20 billion belonging to the 23 local government councils of the state.

    Accompanying Akura will be the Directors-General of Services and Administration (DGSAs) from the 23 local governments, cashiers, and other key staff members of the Benue State Government. They are expected to answer questions regarding gross abuse of office and massive fraud.

  3. On Sunday, a group of Federal Capital Territory residents reportedly engaged in the looting of a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria, citing prevailing economic difficulties across the nation.

    The warehouse, located in the Phase 3 Region of Abuja’s FCT area, became a target for looting amid the challenging economic conditions. Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT command, confirmed the incident in a text message, assuring that “The situation is now under control.”

  4. The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Doctor William Folohunso Kumuyi, has offered a thought-provoking perspective to Christians.

    The cleric has advised them against directing all their offerings to the Church, but instead, to share with the poor and unemployed within their communities.

  5. At least nine persons have lost their lives in attacks by armed suspected herdsmen on villages across two local government areas of Benue State.

    Residents said these incidents occurred on Thursday and Friday in the neighboring LGAs of Apa and Agatu. In Agatu, villagers stated that five individuals lost their lives, while in Apa, four fell victim to the armed invaders.

  6. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and His Highness, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, in a move to strengthen bilateral relations, presided over the signing of landmark agreements between Nigeria and Qatar.

    The ceremony, held on Sunday in Doha, marks a pivotal moment for both nations, with the agreements covering a wide array of sectors including education, enterprise development, investment promotion, youth empowerment, mining, tourism, and sports.

  7. The 10th Senate under the leadership of Godswill Akpabio, has announced the need to reexamine the 2024 national budget, which currently stands at N28.77 trillion, following the continuous depreciation of the Naira against the US dollar.

    This reassessment aims to address the economic implications of the fluctuating exchange rate on the country’s fiscal planning and stability.

  8. The North-West, South-West, and South-South geo-political zones, in a development that could significantly reshape the political landscape of Nigeria, may find themselves unable to field a presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.

    This possibility emerges from ongoing efforts to amend specific provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which, if successful, would introduce new criteria that could exclude these regions from presenting presidential aspirants.

  9. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has called on state governors to desist from sabotaging the efforts of President Bola Tinubu at fixing Nigeria’s plummeting economy.

    Making this call in a statement released on Sunday amid the increased demonstration against the hardship that have rocked the nation in the past months, Oyintiloye emphasized that it was impossible for governors Tinubu alone to effectively fix Nigeria without the input of governors and senior civil servants.

  10. The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) at the 2023 general election, Omoyele Sowore has charged Civil Society Organizations and Nigerians not to wait for the ultimatum given by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) before hitting the street to demonstrate against the increased hardship in the country.
