  1. After the suspension of the four programs under the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) for a six-week period, President Bola Tinubu has granted approval for the establishment of a Special Presidential Panel. According to a statement released on Saturday, January 13, by the special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, this panel will be led by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Honourable Minister of Finance, Wale Edun.

    The primary responsibility of the Special Presidential Panel, as outlined in the statement, is to conduct an immediate and thorough review and audit of the existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of the social investment programs. The objective is to implement a complete re-engineering of the financial architecture of the programs, incorporating detailed modifications to the procedures guiding their implementation moving forward.

  2. The Dress Code Committee, also known as the BSU Task Force, established by the School Management, has issued a crucial notice to the public regarding the dress code and artificiality within and outside the campus premises.

  3. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has finalized arrangements to construct its aircraft hangar at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria.     According to reports, Amarachi was discovered dead inside the staff toilet of the bank located in the Ikorodu area of the state on Monday, January 8.

  5. The demise of Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna, has been officially announced by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

    A statement released on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, conveyed the sad news: “The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, announces with deep sorrow the passing of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna, who peacefully departed from this world on 7th January 2024.

  6. The Minister of Works, David Umahi has described the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed the electoral victory of Governor Francis Nwifuru as the governor of Ebonyi as the vindication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party of choice of Ebonyi people.
