  1. Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has taken the decision to dismiss media aides assigned to the deputy governor with immediate effect.

    According to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, the affected aides have been instructed to return all government properties they have in their possession to the acting Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Governor’s Office.

  2. Lauretta Onochie, a former chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board, has called for the arrest of Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

    Onochie is urging both the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to take action against Obi, accusing him of allegedly fomenting violence within the country.

  3. Nigeria will host the 12th General Assembly of All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) in November, the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Dr Israel Akanji, has said.

    Akanji told journalists on Wednesday in Abuja that the event would be used to mark the 64th anniversary of the organisation that began in Ibadan, Nigeria.

  6. Students from the University of Jos in Plateau State staged a protest by blocking roads leading to the campus. Their demonstration was prompted by the recent increase in school fees and other services provided by the university.

    The students, organized by the leaders of the Students Union Government, demanded an immediate reversal of the raised school fees and other associated costs.

  7. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has distanced itself from a viral publication announcing a plan to introduce a new Naira policy in the country.

    The apex bank took to its X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday morning to warn the general public to shun the viral publication, describing it as fake news.

  8. The House of Representatives has debunked media reports credited to the National Assistant General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christopher Onyeka, that its members received N100 million as palliatives from the executive arm of government.

  10. The remains of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been laid to rest. Naija News reports Mohbad was buried on Wednesday in Lagos State.

    Recall that the singer’s death was disclosed on Tuesday evening by music executive, Ovie who shared the sad news on his X, formerly known as Twitter.
