  1. Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, is dead. This was confirmed to SaharaReporters on Wednesday by a family source.

    Akeredolu died in Lagos. It was gathered that he was managed by State House doctors up to his death because they could not fly him abroad.

  2. The transition of leadership in Ondo State reached a solemn milestone as Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was officially sworn in as the Governor of the Sunshine State. The poignant ceremony took place at the Cocoa Conference Hall in the governor’s office in Akure, the state capital, and was administered by Chief Judge Justice Olusegun Odusola at 5:18 pm.

    In his opening remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed a heavy heart as he acknowledged the honor and responsibility bestowed upon him following the unfortunate passing of Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, his esteemed principal and leader.

  5. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ordered four of its directors to proceed on terminal leave as they retire from service.

    INEC, in a statement on Wednesday, said two of the directors served as Heads of Departments at the National Headquarters, while the other two are deployed as Administrative Secretaries in the State offices.

A former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, has advised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and his opponent, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept whatever is the final verdict of the Supreme Court on the Kano State governorship tussle in good faith.

    Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had claimed that the Kano government plans to spend N8 billion in local government areas funds without justification.

    The circumstances surrounding his demise; however, details remain elusive at this time. Na’Abba, entered the House of Representatives in 1999 as a representative from Kano State.
