  1. A Magistrate Court in the Yaba area of Lagos State ruled on the remand of Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry for 21 days. The case is central to the controversy surrounding the tragic passing of the late singer, Mohbad.

    The Lagos State Police Command had requested the court to remand both individuals, Fashola and Eletu, for 30 days, citing the need to complete their ongoing investigation into the matter.

  2. The presidency has dismissed allegations of forgery regarding the certificate presented by President Bola Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2023 elections. This dismissal came after Chicago State University (CSU) released Tinubu’s academic records to political opponent Atiku Abubakar, as ordered by a court on Monday.

    Atiku, the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 election, had sought the documents to support his claim of forgery of the CSU certificate against Tinubu.

  3. The Lagos State Police Command has officially declared Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, as a wanted individual after he failed to comply with a police invitation. His last known address was reported to be 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu.

  4. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, alongside its candidate in the 2023 gubernatorial election, Engr. Titus Uba, has lodged an appeal challenging the judgment of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal. The tribunal had upheld the election victory of Governor Hyacinth Alia, dismissing the petition filed by PDP and Engr. Uba challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaration of Governor Alia as the winner.

    The tribunal, presided over by Justice Ibrahim Mohammed Karaye, contended that the issues raised by the petitioners were pre-election matters and should have been presented before the Federal High Court, not the tribunal.

  5. A Ministerial nominee, Abbas Balarabe from Kaduna State, on Wednesday, collapsed while explaining his profile at the Senate.

    He was the second to be screened for confirmation, but fainted shortly after he took turns to be screened by lawmakers.

  6. Gunmen believed to be bandits abducted five female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State on Wednesday morning.

In his message, he expressed gratitude and placed trust in divine intervention to guide their legal endeavor. He praised the entire Presidential Petition Legal Team of @PeterObi, acknowledging their efforts and wishing them blessings.

  8. Chicago State University affirmed in official testimony that Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, submitted a falsified degree certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during his filing for Nigeria’s leadership in June 2022.

    As reported by Peoples Gazette, university representatives, in a deposition on Tuesday, rejected Tinubu’s academic certificate, which was the sole educational credential he presented to the electoral office.

  9. The Nigerian Senate has confirmed three additional ministerial nominees sent to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu.

    The nominees who were screened and confirmed were Balarabe Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State, Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.

  10. The Senate has confirmed the appointment of a new Board and Management team of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

    President Tinubu, on August 29, 2023, appointed Chiedu Ebie as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission and Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
