  1. A special task force of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to commence a full-scale investigation into the alleged fraud case involving former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

    It was gathered that the task force held a long session on Monday, during which it considered the content of the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, which indicted the former Governor for alleged misappropriation of N423 billion.

  2. A former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has said that no member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can stop former presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi from returning to the party.

    He asserted that political bigwigs such as former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike cannot claim that they own the PDP.

  3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC). According to Idoma Voice, this announcement was made in a statement to the press on Monday evening.

    Additionally, the President has approved the appointment of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as a Member of the Commission. These appointments are pending confirmation by the Senate.

  4. A military aircraft carrying Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima has been reported missing after failing to land on Monday morning, according to the government.

    “All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar have failed thus far,” the government stated.

  5. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been elected Chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum.

    Sanwo-Olu was elected during a closed-door meeting held in Lagos on Monday, attended by all six governors from the South West states.

  6. Popular Yoruba actress and comedian Ramota Adetu, widely known as ‘Aunty Ramota,’ has reportedly fallen into a coma following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery she underwent at a hospital in Ikorodu on Saturday, June 8.

    According to blogger Tosin Silverdam on Instagram, Aunty Ramota had the BBL surgery to enhance her appearance. Tosin stated that complications during the procedure led to her current comatose state.

  7. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has officially received the recommendations of the 37-member Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage.

    The report, aimed at revising the wage standards for Nigerian workers, is set to be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu shortly.

  8. The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has declared that organized labour would not go on strike tomorrow regarding the current new minimum wage dispute with the government.

    Giving the reason for the decision, Ajaero said labour would not go on strike yet because the figures are currently on the table of President Bola Tinubu and a feedback is being expected.

  9. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially denied rumours that it plans to revoke the operating licences of Fidelity Bank, Polaris Bank, Wema Bank, and Unity Bank.

    These speculations stirred anxieties among the public concerning the stability of these financial institutions, especially following the recent licence revocation of Heritage Bank Plc.

  10. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) says media reports that it inflated petrol subsidy claims by ₦3.3 trillion naira are untrue.

    The position of the NNPCL was made known in a statement on Monday by its chief corporate communications officer, Olufemi Soneye.
