A group of irate soldiers allegedly attacked a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officer in the Ojota area of Lagos State. The attack, which took place at around 8 a.m., saw a group of eight soldiers unleashing a violent assault on the LASTMA officer, reportedly over a traffic-related offense.
Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted that the soldiers assaulted the LASTMA officer for several minutes, with the victim pleading for mercy as he was subjected to a barrage of punches and blows. A viral video capturing the assault has circulated widely, revealing the distressing incident in detail.

On Monday, it was reported that an aircraft owned by the Nigerian Air Force has experienced a crash. According to sources, the incident took place while the aircraft was in transit from Kaduna to Minna, the capital of Niger state.
The occurrence was officially confirmed in a statement released on Monday by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information. The statement explained that the aircraft initially took off from Zungeru Primary School and was heading to Kaduna before it was later discovered to have crashed within a village situated in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state.
In the early hours of Monday, armed bandits launched an attack on the headquarters of Bungudu local government area in Zamfara State, resulting in the death of one person and the abduction of seven others.
This incident follows a previous attack on the Bungudu Police Division just last week Monday, during which a police officer lost their life.
5. The Ogun Area 1 Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has successfully intercepted a shipment of 1,245 live cartridges concealed within bags of rice. This operation took place in the Tobolo community near Ijoun, located in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Bamidele Makinde, the Area Controller, shared this significant accomplishment during a press conference held in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on Monday. Makinde revealed that the live cartridges, measuring 70mm (2¾), were concealed within 203 bags of foreign rice, and the entire cache was discovered abandoned in a secluded area at the Tobolo junction, close to a potential exit point towards the neighboring Benin Republic.
