  1. Elisha Abbo, former Senator from Adamawa North, has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of influencing the Court of Appeal ruling that led to his removal from office. The Court of Appeal in Abuja nullified Abbo’s election as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had initially declared Abbo the winner of the February 25, 2023, parliamentary election. However, Amos Yohanna, his rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contested the result and took the matter to court.

  2. In an exciting friendly match held at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira, Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured victory over Mozambique with a final score of 3-2 on Monday.

    The action began with Geny Catamo of Mozambique scoring in the sixth minute, assisted by Witi, taking an early lead in the game. However, the Super Eagles retaliated swiftly, as Terem Moffi netted an equalizer in the 18th minute.

  3. The Federal Government is putting forth a budget proposal of N26 trillion for the year 2024, and it is set to be presented to the National Assembly by December 31.

    This announcement was made by the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu, following the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, October 16, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

  4. Aisha Alkali Wakil, famously known as “Mama Boko Haram,” has been formally charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside Tahiru Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode. The charges, which include conspiracy and cheating, are related to an alleged fraudulent activity amounting to N150,000,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira only).

    One of the charges states: “That Aisha Alkali Wakil, Tahiru Saidu Daura, and Prince Lawal Shoyode, as the Chief Executive Officer, Programme Manager, and Country Director respectively of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, along with Saidu Mukhtar (at large) in August 2018 in Maiduguri, Borno State, induced Alhaji Bulama Bakki CEO Bakki Commodity Investment Company Limited and Ngumati Investment Company Limited, deceitfully representing a contract for the supply of 5000 bags of high-quality white beans and seven units of mobile ultra-scanning Machines solar energy, amounting to N150,000,000.00, which you did not pay, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 320(a) of the Borno State Penal Code Law Cap 102 and punishable under section 322 of the same Law.”

  5. Residents of Dolphin Estate, Lagos State’s  were taken by surprise when a python was discovered and subsequently eliminated in the area.

    This incident came to light through a post shared on Monday by a user identified as #Realolaudah, who highlighted the bewilderment and fear that gripped the community following the python’s discovery.

  6. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has nullified the election victory of Ishaku Abbo, the current representative of Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

    Senator Abbo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirmed to Channels Television that the court upheld the victory of Amos Yohanna, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), overturning Abbo’s election.

  7. The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has mandated the transfer of all pending petitions from the 36 states of the federation concerning the 2023 elections’ outcomes to the Lagos and Abuja divisions of the appellate court.

    This directive signifies that all ongoing cases stemming from the decisions of various state election petition tribunals will now be adjudicated by judges in the divisions of Lagos and Abuja exclusively, encompassing gubernatorial, national, and state assemblies’ elections.

  8. President Bola Tinubu has officially designated Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as the inaugural Mandate Secretary for the newly established Women Affairs Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

    This announcement was made by the FCTA via an official post on its social media handle, confirming President Tinubu’s approval of the appointment. The statement highlighted Mrs. Benjamins-Laniyi’s pivotal role in advancing the welfare and empowerment of women and children residing in the Federal Capital Territory.

  9. Telecommunication companies operating within the nation have issued a warning of pursuing legal measures against banks concerning the outstanding N120 billion Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) debt owed by the banks.

    Naija News comprehends that these telcos, who have also raised the possibility of withdrawing USSD services, have collectively agreed that resorting to legal action might be the only viable option given the reluctance of the banks to settle the N120 billion debt.

  10. Tola Odeyemi, recently appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), has officially assumed her role at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

    In a previous report by IDOMA VOICE, it was highlighted that discontented workers of the service staged a shutdown at the head office in Abuja, expressing their opposition to her appointment.
