Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two other individuals were arraigned and remanded on October 6 in relation to their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the demise of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad.

  6. The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has decided to withhold its judgment in the appeal filed by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, contesting his removal by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

Earlier, on September 20, the tribunal had invalidated Yusuf’s election by deeming 165,663 of his votes as invalid. This decision was based on the observation that the ballot papers in question lacked the required signatures and stamps from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Consequently, the tribunal declared the All Progressives Congress candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as the victor in the governorship election.

  7. Lightning claimed the lives of three students from a Senior Secondary School in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra on Saturday, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday.

A federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the allegations of forgery of a discharge certificate brought against Enugu State Governor, Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The judge imposed a fine of N5 million on the NYSC, to be paid jointly to Governor Mbah, for suppressing facts and conspiring against him in the allegations. The court found that the unchallenged evidence provided by the governor regarding the issuance of the discharge certificate in 2003 after his service in a Lagos law firm, combined with the Corps’ inability to present counter-evidence, demonstrated that he had completed the mandatory one-year service.

These gatherings are expected to serve as a platform for constructive dialogues on various matters of shared interest, encompassing economic partnerships, counterterrorism efforts, environmental concerns, and agricultural initiatives.
