  1. Residents of Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking compensation of N33 billion over the recent army airstrikes that resulted in the death of over 100 individuals in the village.

    In a drone strike during a Maulud celebration in Tudun Biri, many civilians were mistakenly killed, and numerous others were injured. In response to the incident, President Tinubu ordered an investigation into the tragedy and emphasized the need to prevent such occurrences in the future.

  2. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refuted claims suggesting that certain Nigerian banks fell short of the capital adequacy ratio, as reported by some media outlets. Earlier reports had indicated that around 8 banks with international authorization had a capital adequacy ratio below the regulatory threshold.

    Contrary to these reports, the CBN clarified in a statement on Monday that the Nigerian banking industry remains robust, with key financial soundness indicators well within the regulatory thresholds, as outlined in the CBN’s most recent Economic Report of 2023.

  3. No fewer than 10 people were confirmed dead and seven others injured yesterday morning when a passenger bus rammed into an unmarked tipper on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

    The accident, which occurred at about 5am, involved two vehicles, Toyota Hiace and Iveco truck.

  4. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to initiate the immediate process of conducting fresh elections for the 27 state constituencies in Rivers State.
