  1. President Bola Tinubu has given his nod to the appointment of a Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries for the nine Secretariats within the Federal Capital Territory Administration, and other members of the FCT Civil Service Commission.

    This announcement was relayed through a statement issued by Anthony Ogunleye, the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday.

  2. The Lagos State Police Command has re-arrested Afro singer Ibrahim Owodunni, aka Primeboy.

    It was gathered that Primeboy was arrested Tuesday morning during his visit to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba, alongside Ayobami Fisayo, aka Spending.

  3. Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State during the 2023 election, clarified on Tuesday that he did not personally expel Chief Bode George from the party.

    Jandor pointed out that George and those who backed candidates from rival political parties during the previous election effectively removed themselves from the PDP.

  4. The Nigerian Senate suspended Senator Abdul Ningi for three months due to his allegation that the Federal Government was operating two budgets.

    This decision came after extensive debate on an amendment proposed by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim to a motion raised by Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan.

  5. House of Representatives opposition caucus leader, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, has said that no worker in Nigeria can live on a monthly wage that is less than N100,000.

    The Rivers State-born lawmaker, along with 41 lawmakers from the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, tabled the timely motion on the living wage last week.

  6. The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, issued a directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), instructing it to ensure that commercial banks do not hold customers’ reversed funds beyond the timeline specified by the apex bank.

    IDOMA VOICE reports that the House’s decision came after it adopted a motion titled “Need to restrain commercial banks from holding funds reversal beyond the date prescribed by the Central Bank of Nigeria,” introduced by Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State.

  7. Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi, has stepped down as the chairman of the Northern Senators Forum.

    His resignation from the position follows his earlier suspension on Tuesday by the Nigerian Senate over allegations of budget padding.

  8. The president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has disclosed that the labour union is yet to adopt a specific figure to present to the tripartite committee as the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

    According to Ajaero, the figures of N500,000 and N700,000 are merely suggestions from the state labour unions submitted during zonal hearings on the minimum wage and not the official position of the NLC.

  9. Around 61 individuals have been reportedly abducted in an unfortunate incident where suspected terrorists attacked the Buda community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

    Although the state government and police authorities have not yet confirmed the attack, a resident of the area reported that the bandits stormed the village late Monday night and whisked away their victims.

  10. The government of Niger State, under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, has confirmed that all preparations have been finalized to guarantee a smooth visit by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state on Monday, 12th March 2024.

    Ahead of the event, the government announced that the revamped Minna Airport has officially been renamed as Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport.
