  1. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has granted his approval for the appointment of a fresh Board and Management team for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

    According to a statement released by Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday, the President’s intent is for this newly appointed Board and Management team to usher in a new phase of effective governance at the NDDC, aligning with his Renewed Hope agenda.

  2. News making the round has it that the gates leading to the office of the Accountant-General have been locked by workers, as evidenced by a video showing the gates being closed.

    On Tuesday, civil servants from Abia State, situated in the South-East region of Nigeria, took a significant step by blocking access to the office of Mrs. Njum Onyemenam, who serves as the Accountant General within the state’s Ministry of Finance, located in Umuahia. This course of action was prompted by the prolonged withholding of their salaries.

  3. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) executed the demolition of a notorious illegal market known as “Kasuwan Dare”. This market had reportedly transformed into a suspected hub for hoodlums and illicit drug traders in the upscale Asokoro district of Abuja.

    Situated on Hassan Musa Katsina Street, in close proximity to Kpaduma II within the extension of Asokoro, the market had become a source of increasing concern for residents and passersby.

  4. The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has made the decision to suspend Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s candidate in the upcoming February 25 presidential election. This suspension stems from allegations of engaging in anti-party activities.

The queries come in the aftermath of a petition filed by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, in a U.S. court seeking information about Tinubu’s academic records at the university.

    7. Law enforcement in Delta State has apprehended 67 individuals suspected of engaging in same-sex activities within the Ekpan locality. Bright Edafe, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, shared this information via a tweet on Tuesday.

    Edafe further posted images of the detained individuals on his X page, stating, “On 28/8/2023, the Delta State Police Command arrested 67 individuals suspected of engaging in same-sex activities at a hotel. The occasion was believed to be a suspected gay wedding ceremony between Daniel Pius ‘m’ (groom) and Maxwell Ohwonowho (bride) at Teebulus Hotel along Refinery Road, Ekpan. Today, I presented them to the public at Ekpan Police Station.”

    10. President Bola Tinubu has told Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), not to give him free land should he ask for one.
    Tinubu charged Wike to deliver the Abuja metroline for the good of the city instead.

    The president spoke in Abuja, on Sunday, while declaring open the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). He described Wike as the “landlord of Abuja”.
